Shauna and Sebastian's visit

I am way behind on my blogging lately. I have just been so busy lately that I don’t even know where my nights go. But, I sat down tonight with the goal that I will catch up on blogs from the last month. So, here we go.

At the end of March we had a visit from Derek’s sister Shauna and her son Sebastian. We were so excited for them to visit since this was both of their first visits to our Texas home. They arrived on Tuesday, March 29th. On Wednesday we went to the grand opening of Legoland in the Grapevine Mills mall. Sebastian is a master lego architect and he was so excited to see Legoland. It is a very neat place, they have fun stuff to do for kids. Alayna was a little young for it, though she could do some things, but I would say it more for the 4-14 range. On Thursday I had to go back to work for the day and Alayna went to school so Derek could take his sister and Sebastian to the JFK museum. Thursday night we relaxed at home since Alayna and I were not feeling all that well.

Friday I took a half day and Derek brought his family up to the campus to tour the building and see where we work. We then left to eat lunch. Alayna was battling a really bad cold and had a fever so I stayed home that night with her but Derek took Shauna and Sebastian to the rodeo. They LOVED the rodeo and thought it was very cool. They walked around the Stockyards area and during the rodeo Sebastian even went out to do the calf chase (all the kids chase a calf to catch the ribbon off it’s tail, the person who wins gets a prize).

On Saturday the weather was beautiful and Alayna was feeling better so we spent the day at Six Flags. Sebastian and Derek had a lot of fun riding the big roller coasters, while Shauna, Alayna and I relaxed in the sun and walked around the park. We all rode the big train around the park together and while I rode a ride with Shauna and Sebastian, Derek and Alayna played a carnival game where Derek won a ginormous stuffed dog.

Sunday was spent relaxing and then they had to leave. It was a lot of fun having them come and visit and we hope they can come back soon.
