Mother’s day was a gorgeous one here in Texas, though a little warm for early May. I woke up on Sunday morning to a card from Derek and an art project that Alayna made me at daycare. It has her hand print decorated with sequins and crayons. We went to 9:30 church and right from church headed to Mayfest in downtown Fort Worth on the river. Mayfest is a very cool little community fair with bands, arts, rides and performances. We walked around the kids area and saw a few dance troupes perform, saw a very cool trampoline act, listened to a band and played in the playground. We ate some really good nachos for lunch and played in a jumping water fountain. It was such a nice way to spend the day with my family and be outside, though I did get sunburned. 95 in early May is a little on the warm side, even for Texas.
It is hard to believe that this is already my second Mother’s Day. Alayna is 14 months old! Where has the past year gone??? I will say though, being a mother is the most wonderful and rewarding thing I have ever done. It blows my mind how I could love someone so much. Alayna makes each day exciting and fun. It is so cool watching her learn and figure things out and become her own person.
Our Dancing Queen!
My two loves
