Once we returned from our trip to Seattle I had to get moving on finding a place to live and daycare in Madison. The renters were moving into our house in Texas on Jan. 1 so I was looking to move to Madison Feb. 1. The three hour commute daily was really putting a strain on me and not being involved with Alayna on a day-to-day basis was really starting to bother me. So, time to make the move.
I was lucky enough to find a very nice apartment complex on the west side of Madison. It is near shopping, restaurants and an easy commute to work. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so lucky finding a daycare close to home. But, I found a WONDERFUL place on the east side that had an opening and it was a affordable. It is still a busy morning for me with commuting to daycare and then into work, but the traffic is not a problem and I am so happy with the care that I found for Alayna that I can’t really complain. She really likes her new school and is doing very well there. The teachers have commented on her advanced vocabulary and communication skills so that has been nice. And though at times it is exhausting, I am much happier being the one that gets her up to school each day, picks her up, makes her dinner and puts her to bed each night. I missed that so much while I was commuting.
Moving day actually didn’t go as bad as I had thought it might. We didn’t have a lot of man power, but I am so thankful for my dad, brother, cousin and Troy (brother from another mother). They helped load the truck and condense all the stuff left into one storage unit. They were so wonderful, I am so grateful to them.
We are now settled in our new place and getting use to our new routine and I must say Alayna is adjusting fairly well.
