A trip to the State Fair

On Sunday, October 16th we bowled the Mixed State tournament with Jason and Tennelle Milligan. Abby and Alayna joined us at the bowl that day because when we were done we headed to the State Fair of Texas.

It was an overly warm day (even by Texas standards for October) and the fair was PACKED. So, unfortunately, we didn’t get to spend the day with the Milligan’s because it was just too hard to navigate the crowds with two strollers. So, we split up. But, we still had a lot of fun. Alayna and I had corn dogs for lunch and drank some lemonade. We then headed to the children’s petting barn to see the farm animals and let Alayna feed them. She LOVED the barn. She was in awe of all the different animals and loved the fact that she could feed them. We saw goats, pigs, deer, lamas, alpacas, a turtle, a kangaroo and other wonderful animals.

From there we walked through some of the other animal barns and saw horses and cows and more goats. We then walked through the car pavilion and shopped for our next car (which maybe I will get in this decade…). We stopped to eat some homemade ice cream sandwiches and watched the dog show. After that it was time to leave so we could get home to play softball that night.

Here are some pictures from the fair….

So excited to see the animals
