475 of my parents’ closest friends and family gathered together on Saturday July 30th for a Christmas themed tailgate this year. My dad was the Big Man himself, Santa Claus (but renamed Kugee Klaus) and there were plenty of elves, angels and a few Uncle Eddie’s in the crowd. It was a blast. We all enjoyed a hearty Christmas dinner of turkey, ham, stuffing and of course for dessert there were Christmas cookies. There was also plenty of Iceberg Tea (Long Islands), Boozicles (Flavor Ice popsicles with vodka in them), Snow Shoe shots (brandy and peppermint schnapps pre-mixed) and of course beer, water, soda and other mixings.
We held a Christmas parade, complete with Santa arriving at the end and Santa posed by the Christmas trees for photos and to hear early present wishes.
I, unfortunately, indulged a bit too much on the Boozicles and beer and had a rough day on Sunday. But, it was a great time to spend with many friends and family that we don’t get to see very often. But, it is a great time for a great cause. We raised over $5,000 for the Hunger Task Force.
On Sunday, I was not feeling great, so I unfortunately, missed our friends Ronnie and Jenn who came to visit Alayna. Ronnie is Alayna's Godfather, so he wanted to stop by and say hi and they wanted to drop off new photos of Alayna's future husband, their son Landon, who will be 1 year old next month. :-)
We also had a visit from my friend Trish and her baby girl Baiya. Baiya turned 1 year old this past Sunday. She and Alayna are BFF's and try to skype as much as possible. It was nice to get the girls together. Also joining us that day were my Aunt Mary, cousin C.J and his girlfriend Maddie and my Aunt Cyndi and Uncle Al, cousin Josh and my Baba (grandpa). It was nice to have them all over for dinner and visit and Alayna got to spend time with everyone. She is so very loved!!
