38 week check up

Today I went in for my 38 week check up. Unfortunately there isn't too much to update at this time. Had the typical weigh in, urine test, blood pressure check. The doctor did do an internal exam and said my cervix is soft but there is no dialation at this time. Boo!! I know it really doesn't mean anything, I could go at any time. But, I really haven't had any symptoms at all, no real contractions, not really any Braxton Hicks lately either. I have had period like cramps and a backache but that is about it. Baby must really like it in there. I know I am not at my due date yet but almost everyone I know lately seems to be going early and I am just jealous I guess. I am so uncomfortable and in pain and can't sleep that I am ready to be done.

As for the past week, it has been pretty uneventful for the most part. On Saturday Derek and I headed to the Dallas World Aquarium for a few hours. It is a very cool place, more like an indoor rainforest with a lot of animals than your typical aquarium. I also thought it would be bigger. But, we saw lots of neat animals. We then headed to the Dallas Farmer's Market and picked up some delicious fruit. We got blueberries, black berries, peaches and a melon. All were so fresh and tasted amazing. On Sunday, I headed out with my friend Tennelle to the Fort Worth Just between friends sale. It is a huge consignment sale at the convention center with things just for babies and kids. We both picked up a few things, she got some books and outfits for her 7 month old girl and I picked up some toys and books for our gender unknown baby. I will definitely go back to one after the baby is born to pick up some more things. We found some great deals!

The weather has been finally getting nicer so I have been trying to walk more outside with Reeses to get this baby moving. I also baked som "Jump Start Your Labor" cookies the other night. They are actually pretty good, even though they have cayenne pepper in them. Right now I am willing to try pretty much anything to speed things along. :-) Except Castor oil, I will NOT drink that stuff.

That is about it for now. Unfortunately, not too much to update. When this baby FINALLY decides to make an entrance I will be sure to post pics and an update on facebook page and get a blog entry up as soon as possible. It will all depend on how long I am in labor for and what the procedure ended up to be and how tired I am.
