3 weeks old!

It is hard to believe Alayna is 3 weeks old already. So much has happened in her short life already. She had her 2 week check up last week and the doctor told us what we already knew...she is perfect. She is in the 50% for height at 21 inches and 25% for weight at 7 lbs 8 oz. She has a milk allergy and we had to play around with formulas but we finally found one that worked for her. She is in Similac Alimentum and seems to be doing fine with it. It makes her a bit more gassy than the others but no more blood in her poop which was the ultimate goal. Her diaper rash has also gotten a lot better, probably because she is not pooping 10 times a day anymore.
Alayna has been a popular girl. She has gotten many cards and gifts from across the country. We are so grateful so many people love our little girl already. She has also had some visitors. My friend Brenda stopped by the day we brought her home to say hello and Tennelle and Jason with their little girl Abigail came by that weekend. We got a cute picture of Abby and Alayna together..her first friend!

Friends from work, Cindy, Shannon and Liz have also come to visit Alayna.

Last week my parents came to see Alayna. They were so excited, since she is their first grandchild. They doted on and spoiled her just as grandparents should. She got lots of new outfits from Nana on our shopping spree and saw an inside look at the Dallas Cowboys stadium on a tour. Nana and Grandpa also took her for walks every day, so she knows her way around the neighborhood already. Here are some pics from their visit.

This week Derek's parents are here and Alayna is once again getting lots of grandparent time. She is one loved and very lucky little girl.
It is hard to believe she will be a month old next week. She has a doctor appt on Tuesday and will get her first shots. I am sure she will cry...and I probably will too. I hate to see her cry and hate when I can't soothe her. It is amazing how much love you can have for a person who has only been in your life 3 weeks. I just look at her and my heart melts. Parenthood is already one of the hardest, yet best things I have ever done.
