Happy Birthday Abby!

On August 13th we celebrated the birthday of a very special little girl. Abigail is the daughter of our friends Tennelle and Jason. I work with Tennelle and we also play sports together and our daughters go to the same daycare, so Abby and Alayna have become good friends so far. Alayna always gets excited when we pull up to daycare say “Abby, Abby” and pointing to the building, knowing her friend is inside. Abby turned 2 years old at the end of July, so her parents through her a Fiesta in early August.

Abby loves Dora the Explorer so it made great sense to have a fiesta themed party. It was lots of fun, there was great Mexican food for dinner and Abby got some great gifts (mostly Dora dolls, Dora pajamas and other great Dora things). The cupcakes were very delicious too and Alayna was very excited to have one since really sweet treats like that are rare in our house.

The two highlights of the party were for sure the Dora piñata that the kids got to break into. Tennelle let each child, starting with the youngest and going to the oldest, take a whack at the piñata and collect all the goodies once it was broken open. The Milligans also got a giant waterslide for their yard. The kids had a blast sliding down and trying to do tricks on the way down, but I think the adults had just as much fun.

My little daredevil fish LOVED the waterslide. She went down with daddy a few times and then bravely slid down herself (we caught her at the bottom since there was a pool and she can’t swim yet). She got even braver and went down head first a few times. It was fun to watch her.
