18 Months Old

Alayna turned 18 months old on September 9th and it was that same day she had her 18th month check up. Her stats are:
Height: 32 in. (50%)
Weight: 20.86lbs (5%)

She is doing very well physically, growing on the same scale she has been for awhile now. She is on the taller side for her age, but of course she is a little peanut in the weight department. She is doing very well with her physical growth and function, she is starting to run, loves to climb, learning to march and jump.

Cognitively her speech has really taken off. I have lost count of the number of words she says but she pretty much mimics a lot of what we say (time to really start to watch my language). She is starting to put two words together like "Help please" and "Love you."

Her eating is going very well also, she LOVES fruit, hot dogs and anything mom and dad are eating.

The pool days are now over, but Alayna still loves to play outside and go for walks. She loves to read books and we read lots of books every night. She is a big fan of Goodnight Gorilla and Five Little Monkeys. Though right now she wants to "read" herself and just turn the pages, so we look at pictures, read a few sentences and move on.

I am sure you read my post about her starting to potty train, which is just shocking to me. I am so not ready for my baby to grow up. But, I will say that I absolutely love watching her learn and grow every day. It is amazing to see her grasp new concepts and figure things out on her own. Every day I am amazed by her in some way shape or form. My heart just overflows with love. Of course not every day is roses and butterflies. She is also deve
loping her sassy side and "no" has become a favorite word. So, as she learns and grows, so do I by learning more patience. :-)

Here are some picture of her lately.
