15 Months Old!

Alayna turned 15 months old on June 9th and had her well-baby check-up on the 10th. She is doing great, meeting all her developmental goals.

Physical

Alayna is still a peanut. She is tall at 30.5 inches (70%) and 19 lbs (4%). I am still concerned at how skinny she is but the doctor assured us that she is doing great. She eats very well, she is just a very active little girl with a fabulous metabolism (I miss those days!). She has consistently gained weight so the doctor was not concerned at all.

Developmental

Alayna is reaching all of her milestones as they come. She says about 8 words or so now, which is about average for her age. She is starting to say “please” and “thank you” when prompt and also “love you” when prompt. At least her versions of the words. J She also points to things and can name them, such as baby, dog, and ball. She can also help us get her undressed.
She is still our little diva, but thankfully the tantrums and head banging have come to a stop. She still gets frustrated when we cannot communicate and provide her what she needs. She still points and says “na” for everything so we do a guessing game for awhile until we figure out what she really wants.

We have had a fun summer so far, going swimming and playing outside. We have some fun trips planned in the next few months and 2 long weeks where I will be away for work. I am pretty sad about this and I know it will be so hard to leave her. Last year it was hard because she was such a little baby and I had to be away so long. This year though, I think will be worse because she will know I am gone. I don’t want to miss out on the cool things that she does and the new things she will be doing. But, what do you do???

Here are some pictures from the past month of Alayna’s life.
