And so begins my travels for June/July. I left Arlington on Monday morning, 6/29. First stop Chicago, IL for the NFHS Summer Meeting. I attended this event for work to meet and discuss high school bowling with those who work in the state high school athletic associations across the county. It was great. On Monday I hosted a very fun bowling tournament. We didn't have a great turnout...only 4 states fielded teams but it was a great time had by all. Missouri and Ohio came out the big winners and Paul McLauglin from FL posted the high game of the day with a 166...not bad for a self-proclaimed non-bowler. Best dressed team went to Florida #2 also known as Split Happens.
This morning I hosted a breakfast for all of the associations and had a turn out of about 20 states attending. It was a great round table discussion regarding how to best grow bowling and the benefits of adding it to high schools across the country. It was definitely worthwhile to be there and finally meet those I speak to via email and phone.
Now, I am very lucky that I get to work from my parents house the rest of the day today and tomorrow. Thursday it is off to Maine for my best friend Trish's wedding.
