Ultrasound

We had our ultrasound on Monday of this week. I am 18 weeks so I thought it was a little early but I guess every doctor is different.

It was very cool. At first I felt like Rachel on the Friends episode when she sees her ultrasound for the first time and can't tell what anything on the screen is. That was me. The tech was doing her measurements and not really saying anything at first and I just stared at these shapes and images not really knowing what I was looking at. So, we asked and she started going through everything. Our little one was very active that day, so it was hard at times to get a good picture or good measurements because he/she kept moving and rolling around. It was kind of funny. But, we did get all measurements and a heart rate tested and all is great. All organs are forming properly and everything measured out to predict the baby was 18 weeks and 2 days...which is pretty much dead on. So, the due date is still March 13th.

We did not find out the sex, but both Derek and I laughed afterward as we talked about how we tried to figure out what we were looking for. Though I want the surprise, there is no harm in being nosey. That is just me, I am the one who has always snooped for Christmas presents (sorry Mom) and asked a million questions when someone says they have a surprise. Human nature I guess. But, I am excited that we will be waiting.
I have started to feel the little flutters of him/her moving around in there. Not too often or for too long, but it is cool to know he/she is in there moving about practicing to be the little gymnast already. haha

I tried to upload the pictures to the blog but for some reason they are uploading sideways...however, they are on my facebook page, so you can see them there. They are not great, they are pictures of pictures because our scanner at home is not a pictures scanner so I had to improvise. If you aren't on facebook, let me know I can email you the pictures also.

So happy to hear that the little one is healthy. I am sorry that I don't know what he/she is though. However, being surprised sounds fun:)
